Senior Thesis Exhibition - Eugenics
“‘Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.’ Those words seem to emphasize the core ideals behind Melissa Infantino’s work. Drawing inspiration from dada artists such as Grosz and Heartfield, her work explores the principles and policies of Adolf Hitler, with the ideology of eugenics drawing particular scrutiny. Infantino’s ultimate goal is to force viewers to consider the events that shaped this mane into the monster history knows him as, and to arm them with the knowledge of how to prevent further tragedies.”
